What to Expect on Your First Visit to Our Dental Clinic

Your first visit to our clinic is a crucial step towards maintaining your oral health. During this session, we will have a detailed discussion about your diagnosis and potential treatment options. In some cases, if the treatment plan is straightforward, we may even be able to begin your treatment on the day of the consultation itself. However, for patients with a complicated medical history or more involved treatment plans, we will need to schedule a second appointment on a different day to commence treatment.

To ensure a smooth and efficient consultation, we kindly request you to bring the following items:

  • Any referral slips and X-rays, if available.
  • A comprehensive list of medications you are currently using.
  • If you have dental insurance, please bring the necessary completed forms. This step will expedite the process and aid us in helping you with any claim procedures.

What to Expect on Your First Dental Visit David P. Ney, DDSPlease note: For patients under 18, it is mandatory for a parent or guardian to accompany them during the consultation.

Before we proceed with any treatments, it’s essential that you inform us of any medical conditions that could impact the procedure. This includes (but is not limited to) conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, and more. Similarly, if you are taking any particular medications (like heart medicines, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication before dental cleanings (such as antibiotics), we need to be made aware.

X-Rays

If you’ve had X-rays taken by another dentist within the last six months, you can ask them to forward those to our office. If that’s not feasible due to time constraints, we request you to pick them up and bring them to our clinic. If we need additional films, rest assured we can take them at our facility.

We look forward to helping you maintain a healthy and radiant smile!
